Sam Frederick
Owner/Artist
Samantha Frederick is a California-born tattoo artist and the co-owner of Space Monkey Tattoo. She specializes in ornamental designs with strong balance and flow, and she loves creating floral work, muted tones, and grayscale pieces. Samantha focuses on giving clients a comfortable, thoughtful experience while supporting the artists she works with and staying active in the tattoo community. She also organizes the Tattoo Collectors Expo. When she’s not working—which isn’t often—she’s usually with her son, hanging out with her dogs, planning her next project, and eating cheese.
JASON MIMS
Jason began his tattoo career in 2007 in 29 Palms, California, and after guest spotting throughout the DFW area, he made the move to Texas in 2015. He’s now the co-owner of Space Monkey Tattoo and specializes in neo-traditional work, sci-fi themes, geometric designs, and video game characters. Jason also creates beautiful realistic floral and animal tattoos, bringing depth and detail to every piece he works on.
KELLY GORMLEY
Artist
Kelly has over 20 years of tattoo experience. He started tattooing in 1999 in New Jersey. After doing some guest appearances in the DFW area, he decided to move to Texas in 2017. Kelly has won over 50 tattoo awards at various conventions and has had his work published in many magazines. He specializes in illustrative, fantasy, new school, bio-mech and Asian.
Andrew Shelton
Artist
Andrew’s tattoo career started in 2008 in Dallas, TX. His dedication to his art is undeniable. Not only are Andrew’s tattoos amazing, but he spends his spare time creating beautiful custom paintings. He specializes in American traditional, Japanese and fine line black & grey.
Kory Anguish
Artist
Kory is an incredible tattoo artist with over 15 years of experience in the DFW area, specializing in clean blackwork, fine-line detail,and precise stipple shading. Born and raised in Texas, he’s built a reputation for tattoos that are consistently crisp, bold, and perfectly executed. His experience shows in every piece he creates, whether it’s delicate linework or heavy, graphic blackwork. When he’s not tattooing, he’s spending time with his son, and he brings a steady, uplifting energy to the studio that clients and artists both appreciate.
Lindsay Tenery
Artist
Lindsay started tattooing in 2019 in Mansfield. She enjoys traveling and a variety of crafts. She loves to tattoo plants, bugs and butterflies and can create a beautiful custom design for you. Lindsay specializes in neo-traditional, floral and art nouveau.
Amber Hillary
Amber has been piercing since 2015 and brings a precise, calm, and compassionate approach to every client she works with. Her background in the dental field gives her an exceptional eye for detail, and she loves the variety of people she gets to meet through piercing. Open-minded and always eager to learn new techniques, she does whatever it takes to ensure each client gets the best experience possible. Her favorite piercings to perform are nipples, and her personal favorite to wear is her double nostril. Amber helps clients feel comfortable right away.
Lucy
Apprentice
Lucy is currently in her apprenticeship at Space Monkey Tattoo, bringing dedication, curiosity, and a strong work ethic to every day she trains. Before officially beginning her apprenticeship in April 2025, she spent weeks observing, cleaning, and learning the flow of both studios, and she continues to build her skills through daily tracing, hands-on practice, and guided sessions with Samantha and the team. She’s quickly becoming a confident and capable artist, supported by the welcoming environment of both shops, and she’s excited to grow her craft alongside the talented team around her.

Tenley is the manager of Space Monkey Tattoo. She handles all the tedious hard work of making sure all our clients get the attention they deserve. Tenley is an expert at placing customers who don’t have a current tattoo artist with the best matched artist. She’s involved in all aspects of the work we do here and if you ever need anything, she is who you’d want to reach out to.

Derick Shaulis
Artist
Derick has been tattooing since 2011. He is originally from Montana and also lived in California for many years. Derick moved to the DFW area and joined our team in March 2025. Derick’s work speaks for itself so check out the link below. He specializes in anime, Japanese and illustrative.
